Mission & Values

Our mission at the Lord Mayor's Charitable Foundation is to improve the quality of life through the development of community philanthropy in Melbourne.

The objectives of the Foundation are to:

  • provide financial support to appropriate hospitals and charitable organisations that address community health and welfare needs.
  • promote the rights of every private and corporate citizen to participate in philanthropy and to enjoy the satisfaction of joining a collective force for community betterment.
  • stimulate community conscience in the matter of health and welfare needs as a means by which the generosity of donors can be collectively directed through a permanent foundation benefiting the Melbourne metropolitan area or, at the donor's request, elsewhere in Australia.
  • promote excellence in service donors, beneficiary organisations and the community at large.
