Rt Hon Ian Sinclair AC

Born in Sydney, educated at Knox Grammar School and Sydney University (BA, LLB) Ian Sinclair was admitted as a barrister in 1952 and has bred cattle and sheep at “Glenclair”, Bendemeer NSW since 1953 until recently.He was a member of the NSW Legislative Council before representing New England in the House of Representatives from 1963 to 1998. Ian Sinclair was leader and Deputy Leader of the National Party, held diverse senior Ministeries, was Leader of the House and retired as Speaker.
Ian Sinclair is Chairman of the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR), the Australian Sheep CRC, Good Beginnings Australia and the Australia-Taiwan Business Council; President of the Murray Darling Basin Commission, AUSTCARE and Scouts Australia (NSW) and Patron of a number of charitable and philanthropic bodies.
