History
The Myer Foundation was established and initially endowed in 1959 by Sidney Myer's sons, the late Kenneth Myer and Baillieu Myer. It is now supported by three generations of Myer family members, and represents their continuing commitment to philanthropy.
The Myer Foundation is a public company limited by guarantee and is governed by a Board of Directors.
Funding
Beyond Australia Committee
Large Grants Program.
The Beyond Australia Committee operated for 5.5 years, changing its form to the "Beyond Australia Working Group" in 2006.
Beyond Australia aims to increase the competency, capacity and knowledge of Australia and Australians in the Asia and the Pacific Region.
G4 Committee
Began 2001.
The G4 makes grants of up to $25,000 for one year (multi-year funding may be considered in special cases).
The G4 Committee aims to educate younger Myer family members about philanthropy and relevant social issues facing the world today. With an annual calendar made up of strategy discussions, training sessions, site visits and grantmaking meetings, the G4 Committee aims to prepare and launch its members into Myer Family Philanthropy.

The Family Grants Program
The Health Program
Introduced in January 2006, the Health program recognises the family's long commitment to, and interest in, health matters including medical research,s ervice delivery, preventative programs and policy development.
The objective of this program is to fund initiatives that will enrich the field of healthcare for the benefit of those who either provide or receive services. Strategies may include direct support for service delivery, funding of research, piloting of new service, supporting the professional development of new scientists, and funding prevention and early intervention services.
This program is not available for public applications.

Sustainability and the Environment
Large Grants Program.
"We believe that targeted and strategic action is needed, and that it is timely to consider broad issues of sustainability in rural and regional Australia, amongst indigenous and non-indigenous communities." (source)
